U12s V Wetherby 7-02-10

Whitby U12's travelled to Wetherby on Sunday and gave their best performance of the season.  From the start the forwards dominated the scrum with hooker Richard Hare winning a plentiful supply of ball.  Scrum half Alfie Husband fed George Green who made a good break for the 1st try.  The forwards continued to pressure through Sam Graham and George Reeves and when the ball came back to fly half Green a strong kick was well chased by Jack Halley who fed Green for his 2nd try.
The 2nd half started in the same manor with the forwards winning good line out possession before the ball went through all the backs hands, being rounded off  by Luke Halley. Green added his 3rd try after being driven over by the whole of the Whitby pack.  Jamie Thompson on the wing converted the best move of the game by scoring in the corner again after good work by all of the backs.  There was still time for a final try for George Green after another good kick and chase.  The final result was 42 - 0 which was a fair reflection of the match with George Green picking up 4 trys and 6 conversions.
The whole team put in a wonderful performance being well captained by Marcus Kelly with Jack Halley being named Man of the Match for some great linking play along the backs.
