Whitby Under 16's Rugby   Sunday 11th Ocotober

Whitby played host to local rivals Redcar in what turned out to be a very entertaining match. Both teams started the game very positively but when Joe Lenton scored Whitby's first try that opened the floodgates and the match turned into a rather one-sided affair.

The whole Whitby team played an excellent game the forwards put in some exceptional work in the rucks providing plenty of ball for the backs to show off their speed and handling. Before half time Alex Beaumont had scored a hat trick of tries and the half time score was Whitby 43  Redcar 0

The second half continued in the same fashion with Whitby dominating the game and winning some good ball in the line-out. Through out the game Whitby had plenty of pocession and both Matt Dudman and Jack Reeves ran in some long range tries. The only sour note in the match was Jack Braithwaite being sent to the sin-bin.It was a very enjoyable game and great credit should be given to Redcar who never gave up and played the game with determined spirit.
