2002 - 2005
Captain Mike "Dusty" Hare
These 3 years saw an up and down time on the playing field. Whitby were promoted to Durham & Northumberland 3 (2003/4) after coming second in the league but boasting the 2nd best defence in the country with only conceding 80 points and the club reached the Yorkshire Silver trophy final. In 2005 we survived a last day relegation battle and Yarm went down but got through to the semi final of Yorkshire ST but got knocked out by Barnsley.
2005 - 2008
Captain Mick Latus
First year of pain of relegation into Durham 3 in 2005/06 and it was a hard long season. In 2006/7 the club battled hard in the league but ended up 3rd and missing out on promotion by 2 points. Winning 17 and losing 4 scoring 626 points and against was 195. Ollie Roberts set league record for 35 tries in season.
2007/08 - Still battling in Durham 3, The Maroons came 4th as money started coming into a low league, Hartlepool won league by 8 points and Team Northumbria came second. Pete stentiford scored 29 tries.
2008 -09
Captain - Joe Quinn
Joe Quinns last season before moving to Canada. A very average season with a mid table finish and losing 7 games by less than 6 points with P20 W10 L10. Off the field was very sociable. I think Jimmy Turnpenny got sent off this year!!
